Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and Metanoia Labs, Inc. (“Metanoia Labs,” “we,” “us”) for your use of Petra. By using Petra, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Petra.
Who can use Petra
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into this agreement. If you use Petra on behalf of a company, you confirm you’re authorized to accept these terms for it.
Your account
You’re responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Let us know promptly if you believe someone else has accessed it.
What Petra is — and isn’t
Petra is a thought partner for your work: it helps you think out loud, organize what’s on your plate, and decide what to do next. Petra is not a substitute for professional advice. It does not provide legal, financial, investment, tax, accounting, medical, or mental-health advice, and nothing it says should be treated as such. You are responsible for your own decisions; when a decision calls for a licensed professional, please consult one.
AI-generated content
Petra’s responses are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not right for your situation. Use your own judgment, and verify anything important before you rely on it.
Acceptable use
Please don’t:
- use Petra for anything unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive;
- try to break, overload, probe, or bypass the security of the service;
- reverse-engineer the service or use it to build a competing product or to train a competing model;
- upload other people’s confidential information without the right to do so; or
- use Petra to violate anyone’s rights.
Your content
What you share with Petra is yours. You grant Metanoia Labs a limited license to process and store it in order to provide the service — including sending it to the AI providers described in our Privacy Policy so Petra can respond and remember your work. We don’t claim ownership of your content.
Text messages
If you add your mobile number, Petra texts you a one-time code to confirm it. If you also turn on text reminders in Settings, Petra texts you check-in reminders at the times you choose, at most two messages a day. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop reminder texts, START to start them again, and HELP for help, or email asare@workpetra.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Texts are available for U.S. numbers. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your number.
Subscriptions and billing
Petra may be offered as a paid subscription. When it is, the price, billing period, and renewal terms will be shown before you buy, payments will be handled by our payment processor, and subscriptions renew until you cancel. You can cancel anytime; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law or under the founding guarantee below, payments are non-refundable.
The founding guarantee
Founding Builders (the first twelve members, who joined through the founding offer) get a 90-day promise: if Petra isn’t working for you, we’ll work with you one-on-one until it is, and if we can’t, we’ll refund you.
It applies when, during your first 90 days as a member, you:
- checked in with Petra at least three times a week for your first 30 days;
- came to your live onboarding call; and
- told us when it wasn’t working (email asare@workpetra.com), and worked with our team to put it right.
If, after your first 90 days, we haven’t been able to make Petra work for you, we’ll refund what you paid for those 90 days. Ask by email within 14 days after day 90. The refund goes back to the card you paid with. After that window the guarantee ends, and you can still cancel any time as described above.
The service is evolving
Petra is actively being built, and features may change, be added, or be removed. We may also suspend or discontinue parts of the service. We’ll try to give reasonable notice of significant changes.
Disclaimers
Petra is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its output will be accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Metanoia Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of Petra. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars.
Termination
You can stop using Petra and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Metanoia Labs, Inc. is incorporated, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Petra grows. When we do, we’ll change the “last updated” date above, and continued use of Petra means you accept the updated terms.
